Shadow Hills is located in Northwest Boise on Sloan Street, bounded by Bogart Lane to the west, Gary Lane to the east, State Street to the south, and Hill Road to the north. The area serves students from Northwest Boise, Northwest Garden City, and Southeast Eagle, many of whom attend River Glen Junior High and Capital High School. With its proximity to downtown Eagle and Boise, Shadow Hills offers a blend of rural charm and urban convenience. The neighborhood features a variety of housing options, including new developments, mature neighborhoods, apartments, acreage properties, and even a few farms with cattle and horses.
Established in 1997, Shadow Hills Elementary School began its educational journey with nearly 500 students, serving Pre-K through 6th grade. Situated on a ten-acre campus at the base of the Boise Foothills, the school spans 57,730 square feet and underwent a significant renovation in 2003 to expand its classroom wing for a growing student body. The school’s inception was made possible by community members who supported a bond election on February 20, 1996, providing the financial backing needed to bring the school to life. Shadow Hills Elementary is distinguished by its robust academic curriculum and diverse social activities, fostering student success and scholastic excellence through the dedication of its compassionate and devoted staff.
